About

Hello, please let me introduce myself. I’m Chris Mellor.

I have been fortunate to be married to Karen for over 36 years. We have two fantastic sons, and two gorgeous Norfolk Terriers. We have lived in Amersham since 1986.

I have worked in the Financial Services industry for 43 years, predominately as an Independent Financial and Wealth Management Adviser, spending most of my time guiding private clients, families and business owners. This for me has always been underpinned by coaching and mentoring.

In March 1993, Karen and I co-founded our family IFA Practice, Mellor Associates Limited, trading as The Financial Management Group. We sold the business in January 2014 and along with four other firms, founded Succession Group Limited (now Succession Wealth), the country’s fastest growing and largest independent wealth management business. Succession Group Limited was sold to Aviva in 2022.

During my 43 years in the Financial Services industry, I have learnt and seen a lot, and have probably experienced most of what life can throw at us. I am now passing on my wealth of knowledge through common sense guidance, helping many people to achieve their dreams and goals.

Besides being a Coach and Wealth Planner, whose reputation has been built on integrity, I am also a Registered Life Planner and Master of Life Planning having qualified with The Kinder Institute of Life Planning. My empowering guidance is centred around establishing aims, ambitions and aspirations.

The Value and Benefits of Us Working Together

What if you could work with a Life, Money, Retirement and Later Life Coach who puts you and your aspirations, your life dreams – you, not your money – at the centre of the equation?

A Coach who speaks your language and seeks to draw your attention to matters that you either do not know, do not realise, forget about or just put off. I have been called a, “nag,” for all the right reasons.

“You don't know, what you don't know, until you realise that you don't know it.”

Together, we identify, achieve and maintain your desired lifestyle, tax efficiently. Safe in the knowledge that you will have sufficient resources to achieve this without running out of money. You obtain peace of mind, financial security and the confidence to achieve your desired lifestyle.

We work together to explore and discover your true-life goals and ambitions. Together we build your bespoke wealth, life and retirement plan which you then execute as we regularly update it together. You follow the path that it lays out as you seek to live and enjoy the fulfilment of your desired lifestyle.

We put you first at the heart of our discussions. You are the focus, not your money.

It is about how you discover and establish your goals, objectives and dreams and how to achieve them.

It is not about how much you have made but how you have got here.

It is about your decision making through the deep conversations we have together over your choices.

It is about the visibility that your financial plan gives you to make intelligent decisions about your wealth and how you are forever updating this.

A financial plan that seeks to reassure you that you are never going to run out of money, able to enjoy your desired lifestyle.

It is about the tax that you save and continue to save in the future.

What mistakes and errors to avoid through encouraged proactive self-management of your wealth.

It is about how you diversify your assets to manage risk and volatility to protect your wealth.

It is about which assets are best to sell to provide for the next round of expenditure and regularly rebalancing your portfolio to make sure that asset allocation remains in line with your attitude to risk.

Would you be mapping risk to your differing goals without appropriate guidance?

Would you be utilising all your tax allowances i.e. personal, ISA, pension, inheritance, capital gains?

Would you be updating your wills to reflect recent and the latest budgetary changes?

Would you be receiving guidance on setting up Trusts where appropriate and beneficial to you and your family.

Would you be writing Lasting Powers of Attorney to protect you and your family and give them control over your affairs and wellbeing following incapacity?

If you were incapacitated, i.e., a stroke, heart attack, accident, knowing that someone you know and trust will be there for you and your family as a friendly, knowledgeable, supporting, guiding and calming influence.

Reassurance that the family finances are safe, secure, and sufficient.

Someone there for your family after you are gone to aid a smooth and efficient transition of your estate.
